About
I am a mom of two and I started this blog to share my journey towards a more positive life. I often have found myself lamenting all the things that I don’t have, which limits my ability to enjoy the things I do have. So I’ve begun a quest to let go of the anger and negativity and embrace all the positivity around me. Hopefully, I can inspire others to do the same.
My kids are awesome, and challenging as well. My daughter is the oldest and she is entering her pre-teen years. She was born with a physical impairment known as Erb’s Palsy. She was so large (10 lbs 2 oz) that her shoulders got stuck during childbirth. The nerve extending down her right arm was torn and she had no movement in her right arm for about two months. Now, she has had 2 surgeries and is doing fantastic.
My son is four years younger than his sister and has Asperger’s Syndrome. We are very lucky that his Asperger’s isn’t severe, but it does make him unique. He has a fantastic and off-the-wall sense of humor that keeps us laughing all the time. He’s incredibly smart, testing far out of his grade level, but he stays in the same grade because, like most Aspy kids, he is emotionally immature. Though he’s not sure what he wants to do when he grows up, he knows he wants to work in astrophysics.
My husband and I have been married since 1999 and live in a small Texas town. We moved all over, from Texas to New Orleans to Las Vegas and now back in Texas. We don’t have a lot of money or nice things, but we have a wonderful family. We have each other.
